Robert specialises in cases involving children and domestic abuse.

He graduated from Newcastle University in 2016 after studying Law and continued to study the LPC at Northumbria University, where he achieved a distinction. Despite originally being from Oxford, Rob has always dreamed of moving to the North East, due to strong family ties with the region. This led to him undertaking Legal Work experience and applying for Training Contracts in Newcastle during his studies. Rob was keen to build a career at a firm with a strong presence in the region and was able to experience this during the Hay & Kilner vacation scheme.

Outside of the office
Outside of work Rob is a Newcastle United fan who can often be found in St James’ Park on a Saturday afternoon. He also enjoys travelling and experiencing new places and cultures.

Thank you for everything, I appreciate the hard work you have done towards my case and allowing me to be a father on a consistent and regular basis to [child], this was the outcome I have wanted for 7 months. I am extremely grateful you played a part and made this possible. Thank you for your patience, your time and your attitude. You forever have my gratitude.

Initially had the pleasure of Rob's colleague in the Family Law team advising me, who was very kind, patient and understanding during a very stressful time for me. Further on in the year Robert Hackett took over the next part of my case and he was very professional, explained all aspects of my case to me extremely well. Mr Hackett has a very calming demeanor which helped no end during the process, most importantly we won our case!
